It had a lot of potential that was wasted. I was really hoping for some big mystery to uncover that’s in the shadows of the game, but the only one there is is Gaster and you have to go in the game files for that.
I feel like there could’ve been a lot more in the game. Secret enemies and areas that don’t take a million extra steps to find… That’s what I love.
Hence why I think Fallout 3 is better. There’s a lot more mysteries to uncover (the vaults!!!) and it just feels more realized.
Yeah yeah, Undertale is indie and Fallout 3 is made by a big studio, but if we’re pitting the games next to each other, I deserve to give an opinion.
Granted, Undertale has better music and Fallout’s relies on old swing music and stuff… Both of them have gimicky characters. Don’t get me wrong, I love the characters in both games, but they’re not as fleshed out as they could be. I think the only characters in the two games that were done well were Alphys from UT and Catherine from FO3, both scientists, coincidentally. They have more personality than the others.
Yeah, everyone has personality, but Alphys has hidden secrets and ulterior motives, and Catherine shows genuine love and passion through the form of the holotapes…
It’s a hard decision, but I think FO3 is better.
I hope UT comes out with an update that adds more to the game.
